AWKNG School of Theology currently offers four accredited Bible courses online, accessible through our portal. In Unseen Realm 101, Dr. Michael Heiser uncovers what the Bible says about the unseen world of the supernatural. Starting with the Old Testament, students systematically and progressively journey into the ancient worlds of the Old Testament and learn about the historical and cultural contexts of the Bible’s original authors, what influenced them, what their spiritual worldview was, and what audiences came to the scriptures already understanding. This thread of study continues in Unseen Realm 102, where Dr. Heiser builds on the concepts developed in Unseen Realm 101, with the significant transition to the New Testament. The course continues by picking up the supernatural plotline of the Bible, which rises to climax as God establishes his natural and supernatural family in the book of Revelation.
Supernatural Studies
AWKNG School of Theology emphasizes Supernatural Studies, which was a large part of the ancient world. We often forget to enter into our context when studying the scriptures. In Dr. Michael Heiser’s The Unseen Realm, Heiser examines the ancient context of Scripture, explaining how its supernatural worldview can help us grow in our understanding of God. He illuminates specific passages of the Bible that have been hiding in plain sight—passages that are merely glossed over in today’s sermons but which held great significance for the readers at the time. Specific questions raised are why wasn’t Eve surprised when the serpent spoke to her? How did descendants of the Nephilim survive the flood? Why did Jacob fuse Yahweh and his Angel in his prayer? Who are the assembly of divine beings that the Bible tells us that God presides over and in what way do those beings participate in God’s decisions?
